Each Wednesday we enjoy a Potluck of inspiration at Hot Pink Apron.com.
We bring the conversation starter, you bring the comments stuffed with personal touch.
Have you ever fantasized about publishing your very own cookbook? We have. We do. A lot.
This week’s Potluck Question is:
If you could publish your own cookbook tomorrow,
what would you title it?
Jodi: A Fumbler’s First Guide to Feed-able Foodstuffs (of course there’d be a series). Maybe the cover would be two hands showing three thumbs up.
Amanda: Get back in the kitchen!
Reagan: “Wing It: You never know what might work”. And there would be no precise measurements, just phrases like “a handful and a half of brown sugar”.
Caitlin: Given that i just pulled together a delicious pilaf while running on 4 hours’ sleep and last night’s vodka fumes (stay tuned for the recipe!), I have to go with The Hungover Hostess. Somehow I seem to do great things in the kitchen when I’m still under the influence of the night before, and I’d love to encourage other party-loving foodies to channel that spirit.
(‘Hair of the Dog’ optional, though in this case I suggest a Waupoos cider from beautiful Prince Edward County.)
Ship: Mother Ship’s Experimental Kitchen. Plant based recipes from Mother Earth herself.
Kirsty: Taking back the Kitchen: It would include essential tools that I use, my veggie garden, menu planning. Recipes would be simple meals that everyone should know how to make. Cover would be shot by David Loftus, of course, and forward by Jamie Oliver.
Kristina: Haha am I surprised we all have this lined up immediately? Not at all!
Mine: Don’t Burn The F*cking Garlic
Dana: Not a day goes by without thinking about a cookbook idea. So many ideas, so little interest in self-publishing. 🙂 I think I could have some fun assembling this one:
Rock ‘n’ Cook: Be a rocking cook by pairing the history of popular music with creative recipes. Miles Davis (New Orleans-style) Rice & Beans, Led Zucchini Cake, Marc Bowl’an of Homemade Ice Cream, Motley Crudités (I am having far too much fun coming up with these names). Of course Caitlin’s Vegan Elvis would have to be included, and lord knows what kind of wacky BBQ we could get into for the Ted Nugent chapter. I just can’t decide if a Mama Cass Ham Sandwich is hilarious or in bad taste.
Collectively we would love to publish a Hot Pink Apron cookbook (hear that, publishers??!!!), loaded with these random thoughts; including inspiration for the day-to-day events and meals; as well as our culinary adventures and pages and pages of delicious, reliable recipes.
We dare to dream! … and eat well.. and have fun… and wear these foxy aprons.
So, the question remains, what would YOU name your cookbook ? Light up that comment section below with your own creative genius.
